Our immense gratitude and best wishes to Mary Ann as she enters the next chapter of her life.
Mary Ann Zjala has been a steadfast advocate for the dental health care needs of uninsured children in Door and Kewaunee County. The Dental Clinic arranges for children to receive free dental care in the clinic and at local dentist offices for Give Kids a Smile Day.
Dr. Paul Feit, a dentist at the Dental Clinic, worked with Zjala for more than five years and said her passion is what made the program what it is today. “She played the key role in expanding the program and her passion drove it,” Feit said. “She truly has a big heart and has helped a lot of people.”
For her efforts, Zjala has been recognized with the 2012 Rural Health Ambassador Award by the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative and has received a Golden Heart volunteer award, among others.
